Lafarge Indonesia plant starts production

Production has started up again at the Lafarge Indonesia plant following the destruction caused by the Boxing day tsunami of 2004.

Plant construction of the  PT Semen Andalas works  in Banda Aceh started in 2006 and production began in July 2010, according to President Director of Lafarge Cement Indonesia (LCI) Marc Jarrault.

Prior to the tsumani, the plant was capable of producing 1.2Mta but production capacity has now been increased to 1.6Mta.
