Vietnamese clinker heads to Middle East
01 July 2010

Vietnam’s Cam Pha Cement Joint Stock Company in the northern province of Quang Ninh has exported 15,000t of clinker to the Middle East.

The move is seen as a turning point in the nation’s cement industry as Vietnam used to import this material, mostly from China, Taiwan and Thailand, at a relatively high price.

The company is to export clinker and cement to huge potential markets such as Africa and the Middle East, said Company Director Hoang Anh Tuan, adding that this is part of the firm’s development strategy.
