Dangote Group invests in Ghana packaging plant

A subsidiary of Dangote Group, GreenView International Company Ltd, said it has invested over US$28m (about NGN420m) in a cement packaging plant in Ghana.

Kwame Siriboe, managing director of the company, said the plant has a capacity of 1Mta.

He said the investment was part of Dangote Group’s efforts to make cement affordable in West Africa.

According to him, the group will establish a cement manufacturing mill once it secures a good site of limestone for its operations.

"The group has started the construction of another packaging plant in Takorde in the northern part of Ghana to remain competitive and to ensure that its customers have adequate access to the product.

"The aim is to up the company’s production level to 2Mt in Ghana.”
