Spanish 1Q cement consumption falls 19.4%

Cement consumption in Spain for the first quarter of this year stood at 5.4Mt, representing a 19.4 per cent when compared with the same period the previous year, according to recent figures released by Spanish Cement association, Oficemen.

Production from local plants decreased by 22 per cent from January to March, to 5.3Mt. Clinker production registered a smaller decline, and with 4.5Mt, it fell by 10.7 per cent.
