Madras to increase Ariyalur capacity, India

Madras Cements Ltd, the flagship company of Ramco Group, plans to invest INR800 crore to hike the capacity of its Ariyalur facility in Tamil Nadu from 2Mt to 4.5Mta by April 2011. The company also plans to set up a 65MW captive power plant.

Madras Cements has a 22% market share in the cement market of Tamil Nadu. After the expansion, the company plans to foray into neighbouring states of Karnataka and Kerala.
