Eagle Cement plant to begin commercial production
21 January 2010

In a bid to help address supply problems in the market, Philippine cement manufacturer, Eagle Cement Corp (ECC), will start commercial production in the next two months.

ECC, a cement producer believed to be owned by businessman Eduardo Cojuangco Jr., will start operating its PHP6.73bn plant in Bulacan by March, Board of Investments (BOI) managing head Elmer Hernandez said, quoting an official of ECC.

Hernandez said the company will be able to supply the market an additional 1Mt of cement at full production.

ECC’s plant will have an annual capacity of 1.08Mt, equivalent to 26.6 million bags of cement.
