Tanga Cement wins finance award, Tanzania
Tanga Cement Company Limited emerged the overall winner of the best presented financial statement for 2008 at an award gala organised by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors (NBAA) held in Arusha recently.
Speaking to journalists in Dar es Salaam today, Tanga Cement Ag. Managing Director, Jayne Nyimbo said the Award was a reflection that the company puts quality above the rest.
"This is a great achievement and a true testimony that the cement company has gone an extra mile in quality, therefore, as the winner in the manufacturing and distribution category, it is a testimony we have complied with the international financial reporting standards" said Mr Nyimbo, adding "this improves the image of the company before the eyes of prospective investors and shareholders".
She said the theme for the Accountant Annual Conference 2009 was ’Evolving Role of Accountants and Auditors in a Volatile Economic Environment and a changing world Professional Oversight Platform’ that stressed corporate transparency, objectivity and independence for better corporate governance.
