Holcim creates spin-off company, Mexico

Holcim Apasco is creating a spin-off to participate in the country’s infrastructure sector, the company said in a release.

As of December 1, Holcim Apasco’s cement, concrete and aggregates sales unit will exist as a new economic entity named Apacim.

The new company will look to participate in infrastructure projects such as urban paving, highway construction and other specialized projects requiring premixed concrete.

Apacim will offer services such as the provision of specialized equipment and high-end technology, as well as the design of financing schemes to take advantage of the different options in the market, the release said.

Holcim Apasco has six cement plants in Mexico, located in the states of Veracruz, Tabasco, Mexico state (Edomex), Colima, Coahuila and Guerrero. Current production capacity is 11.1Mta.
