Siam City Cement expects cement demand to rise two per cent next year on the economic recovery.

"The economy has bottomed out, and the overall industry sector is recovering," the company said in a statement.

Demand for cement rose three per cent YoY in the third quarter, thanks to increased consumer spending.

However, cement consumption in the first nine months dropped six per cent year on year, due largely to a huge drop in cement consumption in the first half.

Siam City Cement in the third quarter posted the 18.3 per cent operating profit margin, up from 17.5 per cent on year. Consolidated net income was Bt742m, compared to Bt715m.
