New cement plant in Rajasthan, India

Mangalam Cement has announced the construction of a new 1.5Mta cement plant in Rajasthan. A coal power station will be erected in the immediate neighbourhood to guarantee the supply of energy. The overall cost of the expansion project is INR8bn.

Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem) sold 12.1Mt of cement and clinker in the first nine months of this year, rising 7.1% from a year earlier and fulfilling 67% of its full-target, the corporation said on its website recently.

Of the amount, 12.01Mt was cement and 138,000t of clinker, up 10.1% and down 68.1% on-year and meeting 67.7% and 36.3% of its full-year targets, respectively, Vicem said.

The corporation produced 6.97Mt of clinker and 11.9Mt of cement during the time, representing respective on-year fall and rise of 7.5% and 8.1% and fulfilling 67.8% and 67% of the whole-year targets, it added.

Vicem made pretax profit of VND1.261 trillion ($70.63 million) in the first nine months, up 42.6% on-year.

It had revenue of VND14.335 trillion during the time, increasing 12.2% on-year.
