Vicat commissions new kiln at Rufisque plant, Senegal
07 October 2009

The Vicat group is today announcing the start-up of the new kiln at its Rufisque plant in Senegal.

The kiln, which uses the latest generation of Polysius technology, will lift the Group`s annual production capacity to over 3Mt of cement in Senegal. This installation is helping Vicat to fully leverage Western Africa`s growth potential thanks to its modern manufacturing facilities. In addition, it will enable the Group to halt its external clinker purchases and significantly increase the proportion of alternative fuels used.

In line with the original schedule and objectives, this operation represents the final step in the investment program put in place under the Performance 2010 Plan drawn up by Group Chairman Jacques Merceron-Vicat.
