Jalaprathan Cement, the Italcementi Group’s Thai subsidiary, celebrated its 53rd anniversary with two ceremonies at the Cha-am and the Takli cement plants.

The employees at the Cha-am plant took part in the “Golden Naga Scholarship”, an initiative to raise funds for needy children in the 14 schools in the local community who show particular distinction in their studies.

A similar initiative was organized at the Takli cement plant, which raised funds for a hundred disadvantaged students at six local schools who have achieved good academic results.
The ceremony, attended by the local press and officers from the local council and schools, ended with an environmental initiative involving all those present in planting trees for the re-development of the area adjoining the plant.

Commenting on the celebrations, Jalaprathan Cement chief executive officer Mario Bracci said: “Our company is well aware that education plays a vital role in the development of human resources and will continue in the future to organize initiatives of this type to help needy youngsters receive a better education. The project relates to the social responsibility program the Group has been following over the past few years as part of its solid commitment to achieve sustainable growth targets.”
