Binani to cut product prices in Western India

India’s Binani Cement Ltd is planning to soon cut cement prices in western India by INR2 to INR3 per 50kg/bag, the company’s managing director said Friday.

"We are going to take a decision on cutting prices in Maharashtra and adjoining areas in a couple of days," Vinod Juneja told Dow Jones Newswires over the phone.

He said the main reason for the price cut in the region was the dip in demand due to the annual monsoon season.

Demand in north India, however, remains high, Juneja said, adding that the company has no plans to cut prices in that region.
