Shree Cement Ltd proposes to invest in increasing cement and power capacities. According to a company note, it plans to invest INR1000 crore and is setting up cement-grinding units in Suratgarh and Roorkee of 1.5Mta and 1Mta respectively.
 
The commissioning of Suratgarh unit is scheduled for December this year, while the Roorkee unit will come on stream in February 2010.

The company will also add roller presses at its units in Khushkhera, Beawar and Ras. One roller press became operational in June. The addition at Beawar would be ready for operation by December this year, while Ras will have the press by November.
 
On the power front, the company is putting up waste heat recovery projects totalling 43MW and two thermal power plants of 50MW each at its Beawar and Ras facilities. All the units would be functional by April 2010. The cement and power plants of the company are located in Rajasthan.
