Cementos Lima says it regains market share, Peru
Peru’s largest cement manufacturer, Cementos Lima SA says it has regained market share this year after losing ground following the entry of Cemex into the Peruvian market two years ago.
Cementos Lima said Monday in a filing to securities regulator Conasev, that in May, it had 43.5% of the Peruvian market.
Following Cemex’s entry with its Quisqueya brand in 2007, Cementos Lima said it lost 5% market share.
Cementos Lima also said it had not yet made a decision on whether it will make a move toward purchasing the Chilean unit of Lafarge Chile.
