Lafarge could begin construction of its second cement plant in Ukraine in 2010, commercial director of the company’s Ukrainian representative office, Nikolai Puzenko, said.
He added that investment in the plant, which would have a capacity of up to 1.5Mt of cement could amount to EUR280-300m.
The plant will be constructed 12-13km from Lafarge-owned OJSC Nikolayevtsement in the Lviv Region. The company has presently completed preparation work and leased 100ha in land.
