China: Ningxia Building Materials invests in three cement projects
Ningxia Building Materials Group Co Ltd, a subsidiary of state-owned China National Materials Group, has started production at its new dry-process cement project in Qingtongxia City and has begun construction on two dry-process cement projects in Yinchuan City and Wuzhong City.
The three cement projects are located in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and involve RMB 1.1bn in investment.
The plant in Qingtongxia has a daily production capacity of 2500t of cement and a supporting facility that can convert low temperature waste heat to electrical power. The two plants that are under construction will have a combined daily production capacity of 4500t of cement.
The investment is an important milestone in the expansion of China National Material Group in the region, according to the group’s chairman Tan Zhongming.
Previously, another of the group’s subsidiaries, China National Material Co Ltd (Sinoma), estimated it would spend RMB1.1bn to acquire Tangshan Jidong Cement Co Ltd and reorganise Ningxia Building Materials.
