Chettinand Cement to add 2Mta capacity

Chettinad Cement Corporation plans to add 2Mta cement capacity at its Dindigul unit in Karikkali village, Tamil Nadu. The company’s board recently cleared the Rs 500 crore investment proposal. Currently, the company has a 1.4Mt unit and a 15MW captive power plant at Dindigul.

The company’s ongoing expansion plan at Ariyalur in Trichy district is progressing as per schedule. The first phase of the Rs.450 crore expansion is expected to be commissioned in March 2009. At Ariyalur the company is setting up a two million tpa cement plant supported by a 30 MW captive power plant in phases.
