Podilskyi Cement records UAH193.5m profit In 2008

The Podilskyi Cement Company (the town of Kamenets-Podilskyi, Khmelnytskyi region) ranking among Ukraine’s top three largest cement producers recorded a net profit of UAH 193.547 million in 2008, the company reported.

Net revenue went up by 37.2% or UAH 321.907 million to UAH 1,187.417 million in 2008 versus 2007.

As Ukrainian News reported, the Podilskyi Cement Company made a net profit of UAH 258.315 million in 2007 having raised its net revenue by 65.64% or UAH 342.992 million to UAH 865.51 million compared with 2006.

The Podilskyi Cement open joint stock company has six furnaces for cement production with the total capacity of 3.7 million tons per year.

Four out of six core infrastructure sectors cement, coal, electricity generation, refinery products showed positive growth in March, while steel and crude oil witnessed negative growth.

While cement showed an impressive growth of over 10%, electricity and coal sectors expanded 5.9% and 5.2% respectively in March. The Economic Times of petroleum refinery products grew 3.3%. But, crude oil and steel production declined by 2.3% and 2.6% respectively. The core sector accounts for 26.7% of the index of industrial production.
