ACC of India will spend INR29bn (US$575m) on capacity expansion in 2009 and 2010, Reuters reported Chairman NS Sekhsaria as saying.

"We are moving ahead with our planned expansion. There is no slowdown in the projects taken up," he told shareholders at the firm’s annual general meeting.

ACC, 46 per cent owned Holcim, is expanding capacity by a third to 30Mt by 2010.
