New order for FLSmidth in Peru

New order for FLSmidth in Peru
01 April 2009

FLSmidth has been awarded a contract by YURA S.A. for a new 4200tpd pyroprocessing line for its cement plant near the city of Arequipa in the South of Peru. The contract has a value of approximately US$30m.

The new line will incorporate the most modern processes and will reinforce Yura S.A’s market position as the leading supplier to the Coast and Andean markets in southern Peru. Furthermore, this increased capacity will ensure an adequate supply of cement and concrete products to support the government’s plans to expand Peru’s infrastructure.

Located at 2,600 m above sea level, this 4200 tpd line will include a ILC 5-stage preheater with low NOx and low CO calciner, a 5mx65m 2-pier kiln, a Multi-Movable Cross-barTM Cooler with HRB, a CF Silo and kiln feed system. In addition, all of the main process bag-house filters will be supplied. The equipment was selected to minimize operating costs and ensure that all applicable World Bank International environmental standards are achieved.
