Portland Plant plant lays off 11, Florence, US
Eleven positions fell victim to the layoff axe Tuesday at the Holcim (US) Inc Portland Plant just east of Florence, according to reports from local newspaper The Daily Record.
The cement plant is the largest manufacturing employer in Fremont County, with 190 workers.
“With deep regrets, a job reduction has taken place at the plant with the elimination of 11 positions, effective March 27,” plant manager, Jason Morin, said.
