Egyptian subsidiary of Titan cement gets OK for new output line

An Egyptian subsidiary of Titan Cement Co. of Greece, Beni Suef Cement, has received the green light from regulators in the Middle Eastern country to launch a new production line with a capacity of 1.5Mta.

The cost of the new facility is estimated at around one billion Egyptian pounds (€139.5m).

Titan and Lafarge, the world’s largest cement group, acquired Beni Suef Cement and Alexandria Portland Cement in 1999. In 2008, Lafarge reported selling its half in the holding to Titan. Titan’s Egyptian subsidiaries have combined capacity of 3.1Mta.
