Pakistan cement exports strong six-month growth
Pakistan cement exports have recorded a robust growth of 91.69 per cent to US$ 289.217m during July-December 2008 over same period last year.
According to exports statistics, cement export volume also surged by 62.67 per cent to 4.733Mt during six month of current fiscal year over the corresponding period of 2007.
Pakistan had shipped 2.91Mt of cement worth US$150.781m during the same period last year.
‘According to cement manufacturers, the cement export was up due to rising demand in UAE and other Gulf countries and Africa.
Cement despatches during December 2008 were estimated at 681,879t.
