Cyprus cement production up 2.2% in 2008
Cement production in Cyprus rose by a modest 2.2% in 2008 according to the latest figures from the Statistical Service.
Total cement production reached 1,913,620, compared with 1,872,531t in 2007.
Total sales of cement, meanwhile, rose by 8.4% to 1,940,286, compared with 1,790,456 in 2007. There were no exports of cement in 2008, whereas in 2007 exports reached 62,969t.
Bulk sales of Ordinary Portland cement fell by 7.6% to 580,908t while Portland Composite rose by 28.8% to 903,302t.
