Brazil cement sales up 14.3 per cent
Brazil’s domestic cement sales rose 14.3% last year to 51.105Mt, according to figures Monday from the National Cement Industry Association (Snic). In 2007, by comparison, cement sales totaled 44.706Mt.
In December 2008, cement sales rose 11.1% on the same month of 2007, to 3.969Mt. According to Snic, December sales averaged 172,600 tons per business day, up 3.8% on December 2007 but down 11.6% on November last year.
