Cement producer Salonit Anhovo expects to post revenues to the tune of EUR 84m in 2008, up 10% YoY and one fifth above the target, director general Joze Funda told the press on Thursday. Net profit is to amount to EUR 14m. Despite the recession, the company is planning revenues in excess of EUR 80m next year.

By the end of the year, Salonit expects to sell some 995,000t of cement (up 5.6% compared to the year before), almost one fourth of which will be exported. Exports have risen 50% compared to 2007.

In the following years, growth in the construction sector will be slower due to the crisis, which will in turn affect Salonit Anhovo’s operations, Funda added.

The Salonit group, which has 12 subsidiaries and employs 830 people, meanwhile expects to generate some EUR 142m in revenues next year.

Funda added that the group was not planning any lay-offs in 2009, on the contrary, it intends to hire new highly qualified workers.
