China cement output Jan-Sept ’08
China Knowledge reported that China’s cement output in January to September 2008 amounted to 1.27bn tonnes up by 2.8% YoY.
China’s ministry indicates the cement output growth has shown signs of deceleration since September due to the deteriorating global financial crisis and the economic slowdown in the country.
According to statistics, the aggregated turnover of all cement makers of designated size and above in China reached CNY 456.8 billion during the period representing a YoY growth of 21.25%.
Meanwhile, thanks to the stimulus package of CNY 4 trillion focusing on the infrastructure construction the cement price of ex factory wholesales increased 12% from January to October compared with the corresponding period of last year.
