Sibirsky Cement fined RUB50m for restricting competition
05 December 2008

Russia’s Federal Antimonopoly Service said Thursday that it had fined cement producer Sibirsky Cement RUB50.298m for concluding agreements that limited competition on the cement market in the Irkutsk Region.

The regulator also fined ZapSibTsement, a unit of Sibirsky Cement, RUB1.889m for its involvement in the violations.

Sibirsky Cement restricted cement supplies to customers outside the Irkutsk Region to only certain types of cement that were not being used in the region, which constitutes a violation of antimonopoly law, the service said earlier.

Founded in 2002, Sibirsky Cement, or Sibirskiy Cement, is based in the Kemerovo Region. The holding includes five cement plants in the Siberian Federal District.
