Holcim Hungária to start building cement plant
26 November 2008

The Hungarian unit of Holcim will start building a HUF 70bn plant in Nyergesújfalu (NW Hungary) on Wednesday.

The local council awarded the company the building permit for the plant at the end of September, Holcim Hungária said.

Holcim announced the plan to construct the plant in August 2005 but the project was delayed by opposition by the nearby settlement because of the possible environmental effects of the project.

Holcim Hungária had revenue of almost HUF 32 billion in 2007.
