31 October 2008

Vostokcement had to halt the project to build a cement plant in the village of Teploye Ozero in the Jewish Autonomous Region, in Russia’ Far East.

Andrei Pushkarev, the company’ first deputy director general, blamed Vostokcement’ problems on the global financial crisis and also on the growth of cement imports to Russia.

Vostokcement (headquartered in Vladivostok) manages the assets of enterprises producing various types of cement and promotes their output in Russia and abroad. It is part of the Park Group, one of the largest industrial producers in the Maritime Territory.
