Oyak Cement increases its sales revenue by 20 per cent

Oyak Cement Group sold more than 4.1Mt of cement during the first quarter of 2008, according to a statement released by Oyak Cement detailing cement sales during the first six months of this year.

The group sells cement through four companies operating in six regions of the country, according to the statement, adding that revenues from cement sales increased by 19.2 per cent during the first half of 2008 compared to the same period last year. Also, the company sold nearly 2.9Mt of cement in the country and more than 1.2Mt abroad.

Further, Turkey’s domestic and foreign cement sales reached 26Mt for the first half of 2008, according to information released by the Union of Cement Producers of Turkey. When the sales of unregistered cement companies are taken into account, this level is estimated to reach 28Mt, the statement added.
