GBL Owns 20.04% Of Lafarge Shares
Belgian Financier Albert Frere’s holding company, Groupe Bruxelles Lambert, owns 20.04% of Lafarge, according to filings Monday with French stock exchange regulator Autorite des Marches Financiers.
GBL said that it isn’t acting in concert with other shareholders and that it doesn’t intend to take over the company, according to the filing.
Also, the Belgian group told the AMF it won’t seek to appoint more board members than the three it has already appointed.
Lafarge declined to comment on its GBL shareholding.
