Nigeria: Nyako taps cement deposits

Governor Murtala Nyako of Adamawa State has said his administration will look at the possibility of actualising the proposed Guyuk Cement Industry in view of the abundant limestone and gypsum deposits in the area.

Nyako stated this when members of Lunguda community in Guyuk Local Government Area of the state, led by the Kwandi Nunguraya, Chief (Dr) Wilfred Kimde, paid him a solidarity visit at the Government House, Yola.

The governor described Lunguda land as one blessed with abundant human and natural resources, which if fully tapped, would bring development to the state and the country in general.

He said that since the area was endowed with rich arable land to produce large quantity of agricultural yields, the people should embrace agriculture in all ramifications, adding that efforts were being intensified by his administration to revitalise the sector, create job opportunities and improve the socio-economic well-being of the citizens.
