FLSmidth has signed a contract worth EUR119m with Modern Cement and Mining Company to supply equipment and civil design for a cement plant with a clinker capacity of 3500tpd . The plant will be located northeast of the town of Qatraneh, 80km south of Amman, the capital of Jordan. Modern Cement and Mining Company is owned by the Jordanian company Manaseer Group.

The contract includes the supply of crushers, an ATOX raw mill, a complete pyro line and SF Croos-Bar cooler as well as an UMS cement grinding mill and a packing plant.

"We are very pleased that this contract was awarded to FLSmidth. Hereby we return to Jordan after a number of years with a state-of-the-art production line that will increase the country’s total cement production significantly," Group Chief Executive Officer Jørgen Huno Rasmussen comments.

The order will contribute beneficially to FLSmidth’s earnings until the plant is commissioned in early 2011.
