Bulgaria’s Devnya Cement to invest in capacity upgrade

Bulgaria’s Devnya Cement, part of Italcementi Group, will invest over EUR250m (US$389m) to upgrade its plant, Sofia-based Dnevnik daily reported on Wednesday.
 
The project is due to be completed by early 2010, Dnevnik quoted the cement plant’s communication manager, Neli Statelova, as saying.
 
The upgraded plant for clinker and cement located in Devnya, in northeastern Bulgaria, will have an annual capacity of 3Mt, Dnevnik added. The current capacity of the plant is some 1.5Mta.
