18 April 2008

FLSmidth has been awarded a contract worth approximately EUR55m for a 5000tpd cement plant. The greenfield plant will be supplied to Wadi El Nile Cement Company and situated close to the city of Beni Seuf some 120km south of Cairo, Egypt.

The contract is for all major machinery and first time spare parts for the plant and includes an EV limestone/clay crusher, raw material stores, an ATOX raw mill, a CF silo, a complete ILC 3-support kiln including a five-stage preheater and an SF Cross-Bar cooler, a clinker storage, an OK 42 cement mill and cement silos.

A number of FLSmidth subsidiaries and divisions will participate in the project. FLSmidth Ventomatic will supply three packaging lines, both vertical mill gears will be from FLSmidth MAAG, FLSmidth Airtech will supply filters and FLSmidth Automation will supply a complete QCX quality control system.

The cement plant will be the second to be built based on the new licences issued by the Egyptian Ministry of Industry last year. A supply contract for the first of the licence-based cement plants was also awarded to FLSmidth.

The order will contribute beneficially to FLSmidth’s earnings until the equipment has been shipped in mid 2010.
