Eurocement Group to invest US$639m in development

The Eurocement Group has signed an investment agreement on cooperation with the government of the Chelyabinsk Region (in the Urals) and the administration of the Katav-Ivanovsk municipal district. It envisages the investment of at least RUR15bn (US$639m) in the development of Katavsky Cement by 2012.
 
In December 2012, the town’s primary plant intends to put into operation a new technological line with an annual output of 2.2-3.5Mt of cement. The plant’s current capacity is 1.55Mt.
