India may consider banning cement exports if prices continue to rise, Commerce and Industry Secretary G.K. Pillai said on Friday, but he added that volumes were currently small.

"Cement exports are now only 2Mt, which is very small compared to domestic output. We may consider ban on exports if prices rise," Pillai told reporters.
