Cimpor’s Peruvian unit to build new plant in 2008

Cimpor’s Peruvian subsidiary Cementos Otorongo will start building a new cement factory in 2008 with a production capacity of 650,000tpa of cement, the company said.

Cimpor said it plans to invest around $125m in the new factory in Peru’s southern coastal region of Arequipa. "The construction of the new plant will start in 2008 and will have an annual production capacity of 650,000t of cement, around 10 per cent of the total cement consumption in the country," Cimpor said.
