Italcementi to invest at least EUR25m in Albanian cement plant

Italy’s biggest cement maker  Italcementi will invest at least EUR25m (US$37.22m) to build a cement plant in Albania, the government in Tirana said on Tuesday.  
 
The plant, to be built near Albania’s biggest Adriatic port of Durres, will have an installed capacity to produce 450,000tpa of cement, the cabinet said in a statement posted on its website.  
 
Albania’s leading cement producer is Fush Kruje, majority-owned by Lebanese cement group Seament. Seament also runs a cement plant in Elbasan, in central Albania.
