Lithuania’s only cement manufacturer Akmenes Cementas on Monday is shutting one of its two production lines for an annual scheduled maintenance period. Akmenes Cementas CEO Arturas Zaremba said that the line would be offline for 45 days.
"Once repairs on this production line are complete, we will stop the second production line for 42 days for repairs," he said.
The plant, which is located in Naujoji Akmene, in northwestern Lithuania, produces around 100,000t of cement monthly when operating at full capacity. The company’s annual cement sales reached over 1Mt last year.
