Lafarge expected to continue talks about prospects of new works in Baku

While no progress has been reached in negotiations between Azerbaijan Investment Company and  Lafarge (despite a signed a preliminary protocol) AIC chief executive Anar Akhundov has said that: “Next January the French company will send another mission to Azerbaijan to go on relevant discussion”. 
   
Local press reports suggest Lafarge wants to build the factory in Baku and is deciding between teh Garadagh district of Baku or adjoining Gobustan district.  
 
The factory’s capacity is expected to be 1-1.5Mt.  Lafarge, Ministry of Economic Development and AIC signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the project on December 28, 2006.
