Cimpor Morocco unit to build EUR100m plant in 2008
10 December 2007

Cimpor said its Morocco unit plans to build a EUR100m cement plant and that the group has acquired an aggregates unit in Morocco with an annual production capacity of 1Mt.

In a filing with stock market regulator CMVM, Cimpor said that the additional 750,000tpa of capacity to be provided by the new plant, for which work will start in the first half of 2008, will respond to the ’growth potential and increasing utilisation of the group’s assets in Morocco’.

The acquisition of the aggregates unit is designed to address the growing supply needs of Cimpor’s existing four facilities as well as those of the three more to be installed in 2008, the company added.
