Cement Consumption in Spain up 1.28 per cent YoY Jan-Oct 2007

Cement consumption in Spain rose by 1.28 per cent YoY to 47.7Mt in the first 10 months of 2007, the Spanish cement makers association Oficemen said on November 16.  
 
Cement output in Spain totalled some 46Mt, increasing by 1.6 per cent. Spanish cement imports continued growing, standing at 11.6Mt, up 8.9 per cent. Exports went on decreasing by 8.4 per cent to 892,974t. The main destination for the Spanish cement were the EU countries.  
 
Cement consumption in October 2007 alone rose by 5.2 per cent year-on-year, while in September 2007 it went down by 5.6 per cent on the year. 
 
Cement consumption in Spain rose by 7.9 per cent year-on-year to over 46.7Mt in the first 10 months of 2006 and went up by 8.2 per cent year-on-year for the full 2006.
