New cement plant planned for Irkutsk region

A new cement plant with a capacity of at least 1.2Mta is planned for construction in the Irkutsk region. Nowadays, two sites are considered for this project - in Slyudjanskiy and Tayshetskiy areas. Director of the region’s department for town-planning activity and road facilities Rita Nizamova has said this at a session of Regional council.  
 
Demand in cement considerably will increase in 2008 in comparison with 2007. The general demand of Irkutsk region is said to hit around 1.190Mt, including construction of housing – about 300,000t.
