Turkish production grows 6% YoY in H1

Cement production increased by 6% YoY and reached 23.66Mt in H1, according to Turkish cement manufacturers’ association (TCMA). Cement sales rose by 7.8% YoY to 20.9Mt in the same period. Cement exports continued to decline due to rising domestic demand as they fell by 1.8% YoY to 2.87Mt. Clinker production increased 7.62% YoY to 19.7Mt in H1. Most of the cement production took place in the Marmara region with 7.35Mt that is followed by the Central Anatolian region where 3.7Mt of cement were produced, data of the TCMA also showed. Cement production stood at 47.4Mt in 2006 and is expected to surpass 50Mt this year.
