Foreman Cement Company to expand production
15 October 2007

Ash Grove Cement Co broke ground October 19 on a US$250m plant expansion at Foreman to meet the growing demand for cement.

The Foreman project was first announced late last year, when it secured an incentive package from the Arkansas Department of Economic Development.

The 22-month construction project, which will replace three wet kilns with a more efficient dry kiln, will increase plant production 70 per cent to make 1.7Mt of portland cement annually. Ash Grove, headquartered in Overland Park, Kan., operates cement plants in nine states and is the sixth-largest cement manufacturer in the United States.
