Iran plans to export cement as its production is expected to surpass the country’s demand through the launch of 15 new projects in the next nine months.

Iran has produced nearly 20Mt of cement in the past six months which is 13 percent higher than the same period last year, said Iran’s Industries and Mines Ministry acting director, Ali Akbar Mehrabian.

Cement production efficiency index has hit 96 per cent that shows the production is half percent ahead of the planned schedule added the official.

Last month, Iran started construction of a cement factory in Venezuela with the capacity of 1Mta.
