Jordanian companies get the lion’s share of Katrana Cement Company Contracts

Katrana Cement Company announced that it has chosen Mid- Contracting to carry out the civil work and construction of the Katrana Cement Plant. The choice of Mid-Contracting came after carefully studying several offers submitted by competitive international and local companies. Seven companies, of which three are Jordanian companies, have submitted offers for this pioneer national project.  
 
Katrana Cement Company announced that it has chosen Mid- Contracting to carry out the civil work and construction of the Katrana Cement Plant.  
 
The choice of Mid-Contracting came after carefully studying several offers submitted by competitive international and local companies. Seven companies, of which three are Jordanian companies, have submitted offers for this pioneer national project.  
 
The choice of Mid-Contracting was based on several considerations especially its being of a Jordanian nationality, its history of carrying out similar huge projects, and the expertise it enjoys in the field.  
 
Eng. Sami Shubaily, Chairman of the Board of Katrana Cement Company said: "Our choice of Mid-Contracting is within the company’s policy of investing in the national expertise and competencies in order to achieve the project’s main objectives which aim at contributing to the Kingdom’s industrial and construction development.  
 
With this contract, Katrana Cement has concluded all major contracts for this project and according to scheduled. KCC is expected to commence its production in the third quarter of 2009.
